Kubernetes and desired state

Kubernetes manages containerized workloads. You declare a desired state and controllers reconcile actual state toward it. A Pod is the smallest deployable unit. Deployments manage replicas; Services provide access.

A concrete example

If one of two replicas fails, a Deployment can create another Pod. This does not automatically solve application data consistency; persistence and failures need separate design.

desired replicas: 2 → reconcile → 2 running Pods

Explain it yourself

Why can’t we assume a local file survives Pod replacement?

How to study this

Write your reasoning first. Check the original documentation, identify an assumption, then try a different example. Reading this page does not count as verified skill evidence.
